HISTORY
Velog was built in 1902 from the rock and slate that it now sits on. The rock from which the house has been built was once a large piece of small protruding hillock to the west of the harbour front.

The rock was excavated and turned into sizeable pieces from which Velog and its neighbours were then built.
The slate for the roof was hauled down, by truck along the Ffestiniog railway, from Blaenau Ffestionog slate Quarries.

Velog and its adjoining sister house were built by two brothers, who were ship's carpenters, for their families, and it is thought that the house got its name from forming an anagram of the family names which was Glover, but of course omitting the letter r to leave glove, thus its anagram becomes Velog.

Velog is located just off the busy harbour front, in a quiet residential road, We have spectacular views of both sea and mountains, seen from outside the front of the house towards Harlech and the Rhinnog mountain ranges.

Business Hours: Velog is open from Easter to the End of October
